Gabrielle Stein is a dancer, musician, artist, performer and teacher. She began her dance exploration over 15 years ago with Jazz and Modern dance, specifically the styles of Jose Limon and Merce Cunningham. She was then introduced to Salsa and Swing and later went on to teach Ballroom dance and currently teaches Argentine Tango and Afro-Brazilian dance. Gabrielle is also a musician, and dance is a natural fusion of her love of music and movement. It’s another mode of expression that allows rhythm, thought, emotion and soul to be expressed through the body.
She has studied Afro-Brazilian dance in both Salvador da Bahia, Brazil and Seattle, Washington and performed for 5 years in the Samba troupe "Girasol." Specific styles include Samba, Samba Reggae, movements of the Orixas, Maracatu and Afro-Silvestre Contemporary Dance Technique. She has spent time studying Argentine Tango in Buenos Aires, Salsa and Casino Rueda in Cuba and Flamenco in Granada, Spain.
Gabrielle is a vocalist, guitarist and also plays the flute, with experience performing as a soloist as well as with a band. While living and traveling abroad, she expanded her musical repertoire to include songs and rhythms of Samba, Bossa Nova and South American Folkloric music. Gabrielle received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2000.
